More faces of Brady

He's been pretty cute lately. Here are some pics of him.

Yes, another bath picture. He's really so cute all nakie-like.

He knows how to roll 360 degrees now (more on that later.) Here he had rolled him self up into the blanket. I think he wants to be a burrito.

I just wanted to take some pics one day and here are some pretty good shots I got.

Look at those eyebrows!!!!

He had too much fun today. Poor baby, we still had to wake him up for cereal and a bath.

*Bummer, he was sleeping after yoga today and looked so cute with his little naked shoulders exposed. My camera was having issues though and as soon as the problem was resolved he woke up. Just imagine that one, okay?*

Day 5

Service

I am thankful for the opportunity to give service. Today is National Night Out. What is National Night Out? It's a nationwide event to help prevent crime and drugs and to help strengthen our communities. One of the sisters in our branch is over the Paragould event. Our ward had the opportunity to represent the LDS Church with a booth. We had paper for handprints and friendship braclets to braid. Even though it was hot, it was a lot of fun! Mr. Brady sat in his car seat and watched all the going-ons. He was such a good baby.

When I have the chance to give service to others it makes me feel great. I sometimes have to change my attitude so that I WANT to give the service. A happy heart makes it so much better. Carl was able to serve some one in our branch this past Saturday. When he told me about his plans, I really didn't want him to go. Saturday is OUR day together. It's the only day we have to do whatever we want to do as a whole family. I knew that him giving of his time was important so I turned that frown upside down and smiled that frown away. I am so glad I did that! I feel that I was giving "service" so that he could go serve. It made me feel double good.
I am also thankful for the service I recieve. I am thankful for the service Carl gave to me today by cooking dinner and folding the laundry that has been sitting in the basket. He does more than that to serve me, but that's another day's blog. There are too many people to thank for their service in this blog that I'm afraid to go any further lest I forget some one. but THANK YOU to anyone who has EVER provided me service, even when you didn't know it.

Brady's New Face

Brady has been making a new face lately. He'll suck is lower lip in and just stare at you. Like he's thinking about something very important. Just another thing to add to his repertoire of cuteness.

Day 4

Coupons, more specifically Gretchen for opening my eyes to the value of coupons.

It may sound petty, but, yes I am thankful for coupons. In our recent shopping trip we saved over 50% on our grocery bill. It is my favorite thing to wait until all the groceries have been scanned in and then hand the checker my Kroger card and watch my total drop like Zion Bank stock. It's not just having the card that makes everything so great. It's using those ho-hum coupons you get in the Sunday news paper. It does take effort to clip and store all those tiny pieces of flimsy paper, but when they end up saving you $20 a trip, it's worth it. the icing on the cake is this website called thegrocerygame.com. This crazy lady named Teri tells you where to use your clipped coupons to get the best deals. She even breaks it all down to show you the original price, the sale price, and the percentage you're saving. Pretty neat. Thanks for letting me in on all the "grocery gaming" know-how and all the info every week, Gretchen. I think my trial period is over and it's time to sign myself up.

If you haven't gotten bored with me yet, you're in for a treat. Cuz here comes the BEST part. Carl and I found a deal that wasn't completely disclosed on the website. Kroger is having this deal where you buy 10 items and get $5 off your bill. We found some Kellogg's coupons in the paper, including a $10 rebate. Long story short, we got 6 boxes of cereal, 2 boxes of krispie treats, and 2 boxes of waffles all for the price of tax plus a stamp. A WOO HOO!!! Now that's what I call food storage! Our total savings for our grocery bill today was $61.01. Thank you Kroger, thank you newspaper coupons, thank you crazy lady Teri, and thank you Gretchen for teaching me the true value of coupon clipping.

Day 3

The Gospel of Jesus Christ
I am grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ. Today while in Primary the children sang "If The Savior Stood Beside Me" and I got chills. I truly felt my Heavenly Father's love for me and His children in that room. I am grateful to know that my family can be together forever.

Day 2

Today I am grateful for my mommy. She is a great lady. One of my favorite things about her is her humor. I certainly inherited it! I am thankful that she dropped everything she was doing to come out here after I called crying that I wanted my mommy 2 days after Brady was born. That was really awesome to have her here for us and I know I would have gone completely crazy without her during that time. Imagine all the bottle and pump-parts washing I'd have to do. She was a life saver when she'd sacrifice her sleep and feed my little bumpkin in the wee hours of the night so I could rest. I simply cannot thank her enough for all that she did during that time.

On a lighter note, here's a funny memory I have of my mom. (Don't worry mom, it's not going to embarrass you too bad.)
I will never forget when we were making cookies and Amy and I kept stealing the dough. Mom would sing "Salmonella, salmonella." After a bit of our thievery she threatened to lock us outside until she was done if we didn't knock it off. As we slyly went for another morsel she wrestled us out the door and, what do you know, LOCKED IT!!! Yup, a woman true to her word. It was all fun though.
One of my favorite lines from mom is "Thumtimesth I make a mithtake."
I have passed on the "Little Blue Man Song" and "You are my Sunshine" to my child.
Thanks Mom, for all you've done for me, for my little family, and all that you will do for us. We love you.

My Days of Gratitude

I've been feeling like all I do is complain about my life on here lately. So, it is time for some positive posts. There is no correlation between what number each item is thanked and the importance it has in my life, i.e. number 5 may not be any more important than number 13 or vise versa. The winners are drawn at random. So, here goes!

Day One

I am greatful for clear skin. My acne was HORRIBLE after the delivery of Brady. I went to the dermatologist and he said there was nothing that he could do while I was nursing to help it as far as medications were concerned. The best thing he could recommend was to wash my face day and night and to use a benzoyl peroxide cream. Since we were having such a hard time with feeding Brady as it was, I contemplated giving up nursing for clear skin. But, we stuck it out and eventually, as my hormones leveled off and I started washing regularly with cetaphil my skin cleared up. so now I'm not embarrassed for Carl to have to look at a pizza face wife. I still get a pimple here and there, but it is 1000% better than before. Yea for clear skin!!!
